OUR STORY
BY FOUNDER (OLUWAFUNKE KOFOWORADE)
Digital Health Global was borne out of a health worker’s plight for help. In commemoration of World Health Day 2018, the founder and CEO of Digital Global Health, Oluwafunke Kofoworade (then a final year ) featured an article on local newspaper on how poor digital capacity and limited access to reliable information were hindering healthcare delivery, a healthcare worker from a rural hospital reached out, struggling to use digital tools to manage patient information and so she called him for help.
She did not know how to use digital tools to manage patient information, she did not know there was support available, and she also did not know where to find help to improve her skills. She was persistent in her requests, but unfortunately, she lost contact with her and never heard back. It dawned on her that there were likely many other healthcare workers across Nigeria facing the same challenge struggling to deliver quality care due to limited digital literacy and access to technology.
Fast forward, Digital Health Global was born from a group of passionate young professionals who believed they could use their skills to develop innovative digital tools and training programmes to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system.
Together, we set out to build a platform that empowers healthcare professionals, promotes digital inclusion, and ensures that technology becomes a bridge not a barrier to accessible and efficient healthcare.
